About Me

Tokyo-born, Bay-Area raised

I was born in Tokyo, and grew up in San Francisco. Attending high school at The Branson School, I fell in love with writing and the power of storytelling.

Undergrad

I went to Middlebury College, and played 4 years of varsity soccer, serving as captain for my junior and senior seasons. I majored in English and double minored in French and Education Studies, graduating magna cum laude in 2013.

Masters in Education

I earned my masters from Stanford University and my teaching credential in 2014, focusing on secondary English education.

In the Classroom

I have a decade of teaching experience in both the Bay Area and Chicago. I have taught all levels of 9th-12th grade English; my favorite unit every year was teaching personal statement writing to my juniors!

Outside the Classroom

When I’m not working with students, you can find me playing with my two young daughters, walking my dog Sebastian, and slowly but surely improving my beginner golf game.
